The Dunsmuir Viaduct looks a little different today, as the city has added protected bike lanes.

More cyclist-friendly measures are on the way.

Mayor Gregor Robertson says cycling is the way to go for now, given how expensive it is to build public transit.

With the Burrard bike lanes and now the Dunsmiur Viaduct, Robertson says the city will look at lanes in the downtown core.

The city says it will monitor cyclist and vehicle traffic on the viaduct during the six month demonstration project.
