Adam Hoffar - Monday to Friday Afternoon Anchor
Known to most as Hurricane Hoff or the Golden Dagger (nobody has actually ever called me either of those, but talk about rad nicknames!)
I’m a local lad through and through. I graduated from BCIT in the Radio Broadcasting program in 2004, went to work at MTFM in beautiful Sea to Sky country, and then an opportunity came up to work back in the big smoke…
That opportunity was AM730. I consider myself pretty lucky to be working with such a great team in one of the best cities in the world!

 Ed Garcia - Morning Anchor
Name: Ed Garcia
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 200lbs
Born: May 13th in a land far, far away. I share the same birthday as Joe Louis, Stevie Wonder, Dennis Rodman, Stephen Colbert, Hootie (from the Blowfish), Buckethead and former Vancouver Grizzly great Mike Bibby... OK, he wasn't really that great but he was better than most of them. They were pretty bad.
Favourite Bridge: The Dinsmore
Favourite Ferry: The Queen of Alberni
Favourite Border Crossing: The Truck
Favourite Highway: The 91
Likes: Fatlip Radio and in the moment traffic reports
Dislikes: Snow, icy roads, rollerbladers, the Dallas Cowboys, Nicolas Cage and waiting 10 minutes for a traffic update.

NAME: Aleta Wilson
OCCUPATION: Traffic Goddess... a.k.a AM730 morning traffic reporter
LIKES: Talking for a living, Facebook, coffee, ponies, neon green, shopping, and the North Shore Mountains
DISLIKES: Being stuck in traffic, food/candy shaped like animals and Travis’ baby blue sweater
HOBBIES: SHOPPING? Can that be a hobby? I vote yes. also horseback riding, and skiing
BEFORE AM730: I worked in the Promotion department for Corus Radio Vancouver and also part time as an op for CFOX and Rock 101. Before that I was in Northern B.C. as the Afternoon host and Music Director for a small FM station |
Trish Jewison - Evening and Weekend Anchor
Trish joined the AM730 traffic team after working as a traffic and weather reporter at other radio stations in the Lower Mainland. A graduate of Columbia Academy School of Broadcasting Arts, she was the recipient of their “2007 Newscaster of the Year Award”. You can hear Trish filling in on week nights and weekends.
Likes: traffic reporting, sleeping in, music & rock shows, the beach, road trips and Canucks hockey.
Dislikes: bad drivers, the Port Mann Bridge, fake people, cruelty to animals and every other hockey team in the Western Conference. |
Suzy Patrick - Evening and Weekend Anchor
Nicknames: Q / Kitten / The Suzz
A BCIT graduate, I started out at Mojo Radio as a model in promotions. I have now been with Corus for 7 years, working for CFOX/CKNW/CFMI/AM730 in a variety of roles. I am so happy to be working with such an amazing team, helping great people like you get from point A to point B around the city and living out my radio dream!
Some of my interests include yoga, hockey, boxing, biking, snowboarding and skimboarding. |
Sean Cruz - Weekday Overnight Anchor
Sean caught the radio bug during his college years, hosting and producing a weekly show for an internet radio station (something he still does today). After college, work and taking time off to travel, Sean decided that this radio thing might be a pretty good gig. After graduating from Columbia Academy’s broadcasting program, Sean started working at AM730, dealing with a massive snowfall his very first day on the job!
Outside of work and in between sleep, video games, and television, Sean runs a floor hockey league, and volunteers his time at Anime Evolution, a local 3-day event promoting Asian pop culture. |
Matt Coppin - Evening and Weekend Anchor
Straight out of high school I knew the usual university route wasn’t for me quite yet; therefore, onto radio! Just a few months after graduating secondary school, I was right back learning at Columbia Academy, completing my certificate in August 2007. I was then offered the opportunity to stay local and work overnights at AM730. The rest pretty much writes itself. I now find myself filling a variety of on-air shifts, but for the better part, you can hear me during the evenings and weekends.
As for myself personally, I reside across the Fraser River, through the farmland and in the boonies also known as Langley. Now living that far from work, and transiting most days, I can truthfully say I know your commuting pains. On my days off I do what most Vancouverites enjoy: sushi, concerts and cheering our boys in blue - the Canucks. |
 Jennifer Coles - Anchor
Friends would say: I'm quirky and cute and funny. They say that; not me. But I agree. Completely.
Family would say: Jen's in radio??? But she hates speaking in public! (FYI, it's radio. You can't see me... It works.)
Astrological Sign: Pisces
Pets: 3 cats. I've been told that if I get one more I'll be considered 'crazy'. I say "Too late".
Likes: Stuff
Dislikes: The other stuff. And seafood. Yuck!
Hobbies: Can sleeping be a hobby?
When I grow up I wanna be: A little older. |
Brittaney Carlsen - Evenings, Weekends and All Over Anchor
After 7 years of University and 2 unfinished degrees, Britt figured out the academic life wasn’t going to happen. She completed the Broadcasting program at Columbia Academy and graduated early to take a morning co-hosting gig in Prince Albert, SK while also working mid-mornings at their sister country station. The lack of ocean for scuba diving and mountains to hike kicked her homesickness into overdrive so she packed up and U-Hauled it back home to Vancouver. After working at a news station in Vancouver, Britt took some time off of radio but has returned to join the AM730 Traffic Team. |
